Jessica Murray - Solicitor

Jessica joined Goldman Bailey in October 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor on 1 November 2017.

Jessica graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies with an Honours degree in History and South Asian Studies, before undertaking her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Bloomsbury. Jessica chose to pursue a career in law as she enjoys research, working with clients and has a strong interest in human rights. She has a strong commitment to legal aid work.

After successfully completing her studies, Jessica began her legal career as a paralegal with a specialist criminal defence practice in south London, with whom she went on to complete her training contract. Whilst specialising in criminal defence, she also gained valuable additional experience in mental health law during a secondment to Creighton & Partners in central London. Jessica also gained experience of defending military service personnel.

Jessica qualified as an accredited police station representative in 2014 and so already has extensive experience in successfully defending a variety of clients facing a range of allegations, including sexual offences, complex drug supply, fraud and serious assaults. She is determined in all cases to ensure all those she represents receive the highest level of client care and are fully aware of their rights, the allegations made and the procedure to be followed. She has no qualms in dealing firmly with any violations or inappropriate behaviour by police officers.

Jessica is now a regular advocate at the Magistrates’ Court and is currently undertaking her Magistrates’ Court accreditation to qualify as a duty solicitor. She takes a meticulous and proactive approach to defending our clients and is already a valuable member of the team.
