Serious and General Crime

Police Station Representation

We provide expert representation to those arrested 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We can be contacted at all times on 020 3326 2585.

Representation at the police station is arguably the most important part of the criminal justice process. It is therefore vital to ensure you have good advice at this stage as this could result in avoiding further prosecution.

At Goldman Bailey we have extensive experience representing suspects at the police station for offences from theft to murder. Anyone who is arrested is entitled to free and independent legal advice at the police station.

Other interviews under caution

We are also available to provide representation in interview - and any subsequent proceedings - for investigations conducted by agencies such as the Department of Work and Pensions, Local Authorities, the Information Commissioner and Trading Standards.

Magistrates Courts & Youth Courts

Our lawyers attend Magistrates Courts and Youth Courts in and around the London area on a daily basis. We have substantial experience in dealing with applications for bail, trials, sentencing hearings and legal arguments over the full spectrum of criminal offences.

We are also experienced in extradition law, regulatory prosecutions and Proceeds of Crime Act/Confiscation proceedings

We will advise you on the most suitable form of funding and will always assess eligibility for legal aid where available.

Crown Courts

Serious and complex matters are dealt with in the Crown Court and we understand that such proceedings can be a daunting prospect.

We have a wealth of experience in defending the most serious of allegations and at each stage, will guide you through the process and procedure. We will ensure that your case is fully prepared and that you are represented by an experienced team of lawyers. We have developed excellent working relationships with the finest defence barristers and leading forensic experts to assist with case analysis, preparation and presentation.

We take a proactive approach in the consideration of the merits of an appeal against either conviction or sentence in both the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court. We also have experience of challenging decisions of the courts by way of judicial review proceedings and appeals by way of case stated.

Fare Evasion Prosecutions

Many transport companies adopt a zero tolerance approach with regards to prosecution of fare evasion. This can involve being summoned to the Magistrates Court and the risk of a criminal conviction, which can have implications for career prospects and foreign travel.

We charge a fixed fee to negotiate with the bus or train company on your behalf in a determined effort to find an alternative resolution. We have successfully negotiated out-of-court settlements in prosecutions instigated by the following companies:

  • Transport for London (TFL) – including Oyster cards and Freedom passes
  • First Capital Connect
  • South West Trains
  • East Coast
